I read all the reviews that the paint on this plate can crack and chip. So I had 3M clear protective tape laying around and decided to stick it on the panel to see if that would help. Unfortunately the tape I had wasn't wide enough to cover the panel with one strip so I had to wrap two strips and overlap them a bit but I can tell you it made a huge difference. The license plate has been on my truck for over 5000 miles and it still looks great. I'll update the photo soon so everyone can see for themselves. Sellers should consider adding this as an option or as a standalone product to avoid those negative reviews of an otherwise good product.
