Purchased both types of water leak sensors. I bought this with a sensor for my air conditioner. The probe is lowered into the trough above the conditioner stream. while the device itself is connected to the wall above the tablet. I could use a different type of leak sensor, just my air conditioner. When the drain is clogged, the overflow pan fills more than an inch of water before my air conditioner automatically shuts off (AC). C Emergency switch attached to the overflow tray). The overflow bowl is over three inches deep. This means that the other leak sensors will be almost completely, if not completely, submerged in the A/C bypass tank. The reason is that my air conditioner flooded my whole house with nearly an inch of water in every room and ruined my hardwood floors. Yes, the air conditioner turns off automatically, I just want to know if water gets into the overflow pan. Not only does this sensor beep like my old one, but with the YoLink hub I'm notified via a message on my phone that water has been detected in the bowl. I also have Alexa sending a message to multiple devices with the same message. Now I can solve problems with the A/C draining before the A/C shuts off. If I'm not at home, I know the air conditioner won't be on when I get home. So I recommend both types of sensors. I use others under each sink and around my washing machine and kettle. I want to know if a leak was found. These sensors are a lot cheaper than replacing the entire hardwood floor in your home. By the way, when using a Yolink hub, the sensors actually interact with other devices and Alexa. And if you ever need help from Yolink C/S, they are top notch. 👍👍
