We used our old shop vacuum (with a different set of hoses/pipes than shop/construction) for its versatility, power and tank construction. Our upright Oreck, which was almost new when given to us, had a hard time getting out of the closet, unable to negotiate the nooks and crannies in the old house or up the stairs. And it didn't work well on large area carpets. for any reason. Looking for a special tank machine just for the home, we came VERY close to buying a European made Sonicale, which itself is quite expensive. To save $, we had the simple idea of just buying another store-bought vacuum for the house. ENTER THIS SHOP - VAC we loved for the home with various attachments we have already purchased. I would give it 5 stars barring two issues: 1) The curved mounting bar is very weak, just slips out sometimes and doesn't look solid at all on our old same capacity shop vacuum. . 2) Like the old cable, if you wrap the cable around the accessory holder and then add some accessories to the slots, you can't just remove the cable without removing all the accessories. To solve the last problem, I just fold the cord neatly and tuck it under the vacuum handle. (This works fine except we're trying to use a short, sturdy extension with a vacuum, and they don't both tuck under the handle. OTHERWISE, this little machine glides easily over carpet or hardwood (keep the wheels clean to avoid scratches avoid) ) helps us collect all the dog hair, leaves, and dust in the old house from the air vents to the 12-foot ceiling corners, and saves us tons of money on a fancy machine that really can't do any more! up filter bag We are very happy with it as a household vacuum cleaner!
