After reading the hype about how these speakers compare to speakers twice the price, I was intrigued. So I did what any scientist would do - I put them in competition with speakers of different costs. Here is my setup. Big amp (Sony ES Line Preamp, Speaker Switcher and Speaker List: B&W DM602s1, B&W DM600s3, NHT ClassicThree, Micca Club 3 (modified with XO and passive radiator) and our infamous Elacs. This was set up as a blind test for my audience of 3 people (2 musicians and a non-technical woman) I gave them random numbers through different stages (so the audience doesn't remember the speakers through different musical passages) and let them listen to different music: piano, trio jazz, classical orchestra, live rock concert, studio -Rock/Pop, Electronica/Pop, the blind number for the speakers changed, but the listeners recognized them IMMEDIATELY at any music signature for any music wide range, like classical orchestra), with pop music and electro there were fewer problems. In general, compared to all other loudspeakers, it was noticed that instead of an instrumental sound, it was going to be an elac sound; which is never good. The color turned out a lot worse than I expected. On the plus side, they have great bass, good treble extension and mids. The spectrum is there and it's quite impressive, so I'm not surprised people are like her. I can not say more; now i have to disassemble my living room test bench before my wife hands me the divorce papers.
