Very disappointed with this color. I've only ever used Annie Sloan and will never deviate from it again. The only reason I chose this brand was because it was dark black. Annie Sloan's darkest shade is graphite, and I wanted black. At the same time I painted the bedside tables I bought from Target about 4 years ago, they were medium grey. It was awful working with that color. A coat? No, try 3 and it's still not black. It's like Annie Sloan's graphite color but with white stripes! And it's not just that he needs another coat. The furniture is 3 layers and still has white chalk stripes. I followed the directions and gave the color a good shake. The consistency is good, nothing lumps. If you use chalk paint, use Annie Sloane. This is the most reliable formula and it is much easier to work with. This color also had a lot of blisters. Impossible to get rid of. I spent hours trying to get the right/dark color but it was a waste of time. Not at all satisfied.
