I purchased 2 sets of this product to have the extra freedom to build any size cages I need for my kitten while she adjusts to my house. and then for their recovery after sterilization. This set is great! It was easy to put together and had everything I needed to do exactly what I wanted. One kit would definitely not be enough to build a two tier cat cage. So I'm very glad I got 2 sets (I made a 2 tier cage, 3 panels wide and 2 panels deep and I still had enough narrow panels to build a ramp). The product is durable and easy to disassemble when the time comes. The only downside is that the door locks/bolts aren't very strong. When opening and closing locks 1-2 times a day, they broke after 2 weeks. The problem was easily solved by going to the home depot to buy stronger locks, so it wasn't a big deal for me. Just note that if you intend to open and close your cage doors regularly, you will definitely need more secure door locks/latches. You will also need thick cloths or rugs to cover any panels you use for the bottom of the cage as it will be painful for the animal to walk on the bars if left uncovered. Overall, knowing what I bought it for, I love this product as an alternative to much more expensive cages that you can't do custom modifications to. I felt like a kid assembling building blocks and the result is a cool cage for my kitty. :)
