It was kind of a gift to myself I am currently using this to wireless charge a Samsung Galaxy S8 which I have owned since it was released. I have pre-ordered this phone and am keeping it as a backup currently being used primarily for video streaming. This charger works great. It acts as a fast charger for my Galaxy S8 and works both vertically and horizontally. Since the above phone is mainly on the charger and used for video streaming from time to time, the phone will start wireless charging when the battery is low. I'm not aware of the negative side effect of charging my phone at will, but I'm aware of the feature this charger offers. I don't have to think about charging this phone anymore. The charger works and charges the phone automatically. The charger will turn off automatically when not charging and a small green indicator will light up when the phone starts charging again. The only issue I had is the placement of the extra USB ports. While there is no issue with wireless charging the device in a vertical position, there is an issue when my device is placed horizontally. Horizontal wireless charging blocks these USB ports. Had these USB ports been on the front or side, this problem could have been avoided altogether. I would recommend this to anyone who needs a wireless charger that turns on automatically and works both vertically and horizontally. This is no nonsense device with plenty of usability. I don't bother with this device at all and I don't bother charging the device at all, which I often forget.
