Socks were quite comfortable, they were worn on the outside of the shoe. It seemed to me that the socks rubbed the toes or the shoes rubbed. I've tried this process on 3 pairs of running shoes I own with the same results. But for me it was comfortable to walk around the house in socks. I think they would be great for skiing or skating in a large room with polished floors. But at 70+ I don't have access to that luxury. Carpet and small tiled areas. I won't return them just because they don't fit me, but the Goodwill Store will find them good homes. The socks were good quality, made of good material and fit well, they just didn't fit me.
