Depending on the brand, I have about 14-16, mostly XL, but sometimes more. I ordered XL to be on the safe side and they fit perfectly. I prefer high waisted pieces and they sit comfortably right in the middle of the waist. Wearing it mid-waist doesn't affect the length, I really like the slight dip on the sides. Since I have big hips I hate when I end up with puffy chafing and they have enough fabric that I think I can avoid! I have two packs of black and burgundy... the color burgundy is really pretty, can't wait to wear it... I love all black clothes so just a bonus for getting two fers! These shorts are soft and if you don't like pockets I definitely recommend them!
