I've had this mount for almost a year. I am very happy with the construction of the gooseneck, the rigidity of the gooseneck and its overall strength. The installation was excruciating mostly because of the car built in and not the holder itself. Once mounted on the seat bolt the holder was just what I needed. Where this holder fails are the tabs that hold the phone in place. All my long legs are broken. The plastic just isn't strong enough to take the stress of my Note 8. It's in an Otter case, but that shouldn't be a problem. Case and phone are placed in the holder. The design and material from which the tab is made is inferior to the overall excellent fastening. After a while, you may see the plastic turn white, letting you know it's about to fail. The tabs seem to be too long, which adds to its overall weakness. The manufacturer needs a better design of the earbuds with a stronger material to withstand the stress they are subjected to. I am keeping the gooseneck but replacing the mount with an Akron side clip. This should fix any issues with tabs going to the limit and I have to buy new tabs every year. Again, a great mount and terrible tabs make for a two-star rating.
