I use it for storing milk. A full gallon is divided fairly well between 4 bottles. What I notice and appreciate the most is that my milk stays fresher for longer. It doesn't have that weird milky smell like it's stored in a plastic container after a few days. In fact, I buy milk from the store and put it in my containers as soon as possible. My daughter and I are known for our keen sense of smell, so once the milk starts smelling it's over. But with these bottles we now have milk that expired on the 1st (December) and still has a pretty good shelf life on the 22nd. Nice! When I first bought it, I took it out of the box, washed it and poured boiling water over it until it was cold. I then let them dry to room temperature before filling them with milk. We wash them by hand with a regular glass/cup brush. We wash all dishes by hand. .No one has dropped it yet, so it's something! Tip: Leaving the lid open will speed up the spoilage process, so be sure to tell the kids to close the lid tightly.
