Great first printer for a beginner!

I am so impressed with this printer! Right out of the box, all I had to do was install the floss spool, attach the handles, and level the bed. Unexpectedly, I also had to clean the extruder - it was clogged with the wrong color I wanted. Seal with it so I know it arrived already taped. However, I have a feeling clogs are probably a fairly common problem with 3D printers, and knowing how to clean a nozzle is pretty basic knowledge. I found a YouTube video showing how to take apart the extruder and I was able to start printing in just an hour or two after unpacking! I like the rigid sheet metal frame as I can place my laptop on the same table and print without worrying about hitting the print head. I didn't like the version of Cura that came with the printer, so I copied the device's settings to the latest software with no problems. The printer itself is mostly cool. I only have a few complaints and they really don't matter considering the quality and price of the device. I will list my pros and cons below after having the printer for 2 weeks and only printing PLA. Pros: - Quick assembly, easy to follow instructions - Comes with all the tools you need for routine maintenance (Allen wrench, extra screws, extra nozzle, glue stick, etc.) - Reel seat works well and fits regular reels. - The blue building mat on the platform is pretty good, especially since the platform cannot be removed from the device. For large prints I sometimes use a little glue around the edges to prevent curling. - Touch screen interface! And it's intuitive and responsive. Cons: - I cannot remove the printing platform from the device. This means that any fingerprints inside the device must be carefully removed. However, the blue build mat that comes with the device is good overall. The light strip inside the device is ideal for decorative lighting, but cannot be switched off. It's beyond annoying considering the printer is currently in my bedroom. If I knew a little more about electronics I could probably cut the wires to the headlights and put in a switch, but I'm not that much of an engineer. The print volume is a bit small; but I knew I was sacrificing writing space for a compact design with a solid build. I wish the spool holder wasn't on the back of the printer as it's pretty hard to see from the back. But at least it doesn't bother me. Files are not displayed in alphabetical order when using an SD card. I'm picky, but it's annoying. The removal tool that comes with the unit is a massive ink scraper that's sharp and can gouge the mounting mat if I overdo it with a stuck pressure. I invest in a smaller imprint remover for more delicate subjects. Basically this is a fantastic printer for the price. You get a robust and pre-assembled printer with a heated bed and plenty of room for upgrades. I found a new hobby and finally started decorating my apartment: do I need a shelf for a first aid kit? PRINT ONE. Need a fastener to keep cords off the floor? PRINT ONE. Need a drawer divider? PRINT ONE. Need a new soul mate? SEAL O--- oh wait, no, it's not that hard. Officially, I like my 3D printer more than dating. My kidi is already a better guy than anyone I've dated in the last 3 years.
