It is very difficult to use less plastic. Doggy Do Good really helps! Made in the USA

Would recommend, bought several times and will definitely buy again! We have two dogs and an indoor cat. I collect a lot of excrement here and sort through a number of plastic bags. After seeing a short video on social media about plastic waste "islands" in the oceans and how plastic bags cause such damage. about marine life, I sat and thought about how much we actually use and throw away. I didn't think about it before because at least I've used each grocery bag more than once. Once to bring groceries home and then again as small can bin liners, collecting dog waste in the yard and throwing away used cat litter after daily clean up. soil filling. They could still find their way into local reservoirs, rivers and streams. How could I use less? I went looking. Given that these grocery bags are "free," I wanted something economical (we're not made of money) and better for the environment too. Too many pet waste bags are still made from some type of plastic despite claiming to be eco-friendly. There is no plastic. Then I noticed Doggy Do Good. I read their descriptions and went to their website to learn more about them. They produce plant-based bags that are biodegradable, not just broken down into smaller plastic particles, and are compostable (industrial compost, not household compost). 10% of their profits go to dogs in emergency euthanasia shelters. Made in America! Although they are more expensive than others, I bought a box of XL Cat Litter/X-Large Dog Waste Bags to try them out. First, they don't have a chemical smell. They appear silky to me, which is not uncomfortable at all. It's not difficult to take them out of the roll, although I take out the next one carefully so as not to tear it. I've decided to use them in my bathroom trash can, which is a 2 gallon (8 liter) galvanized bucket: 9 ¾" top diameter and 8 3/8" tall. It empties about once a week and a half. Doggy Do Good packs fit in very well. I also use them in the trash can I use when cleaning out the litter box. My only issue with the bags is that they don't quite fit in a typical 4 gallon trash can. The blue oval trash can (shown) is 12 ¼ inches wide, 6 ½ inches wide, and 10 ½ inches high. The pockets are a bit short. To counteract this, I pull on one side of the bag and pull it over the edge of the bin. I lean this side against the side of the litter box to hold it in place while scooping. Which, by the way, fascinates the cat. To use fewer bags, I leave this bag in the bin for a couple of days or so to scoop out the poo before throwing it all out. I use clumpy clay cat litter, and even after five days of removing poop and pee, the Doggy Do Good bags hold the weight and won't rip or rip when I tie them up and put them in the big 30-gallon trash can in the garage. Because of their more than decent performance, I bought more XL bags. I keep the box in my bathroom and in my "cat room". We recently decided we should go camping and bought a motorhome (class A) on wheels. Nothing compares to *camping* with your own bed, AC and potty! We have visited two animal friendly state parks in our home state so far. They have very thoughtful and handy pet bag stations scattered around, but these bags are plastic! I bought another box of XL Doggy Do Good bags to keep in the RV for use in the small bin we have in our RV bathroom and for collecting poop. Unfortunately, they just aren't big enough to fit in the trash can we keep under the kitchen sink. Our daughter who lives with us brought her little poop bag dispenser with us when we walked the dogs (several times a day). but on our second hike we ran out of those little bags! Luckily I had larger Doggy Do Good bags and there were bags here and there offered by the park. Since I'm making a conscious effort to use less plastic and I love bags, I bought little bags from Doggy Do Good for the poop. and a dispenser to attach my dog's harness or leash! So yes. They're more expensive than other poop bags or small bin liners, they don't quite fit in a small 4 gallon bin, but with a little effort this can be circumvented. They're damn comfortable; easy to take with you for a walk with the dog; Hold the weight of clay cat litter spoons for several days. contain an odor they're plastic-free and truly biodegradable, and the company donates them to animal shelters! Sounds like a win-win situation. However, I will say that I have not run any tests to see how long they hold liquid. Advantages: listed above. Cons: Outputs and XL bags can be slightly larger to better fit small bathroom-type vanities or trash cans.
