I purchased this item at 18g, but it did not fit. I made sure the package said the right gague, and it did, but it was still too big to fit in my nostril piercing. It was a bit too thick to fit in comfortably, and it made me bleed a little, so I gave up on trying to put it in. I recommend getting one size down if your piercing is still sensitive, as it was too painful for me to put in. My piercing at the time was 99% healed, so there shouldn't have been any pain. Other than that issue, the hoop itself seems fairly sturdy and did not break during my struggle with it.
