So you're going to load and unload your $20,000 boat [you choose the amount] with a cheap Chinese winch? Not me. We replaced a cheap import with a broken pawl (an extremely important part that failed on an old winch). Considering the value of what we loaded and unloaded AND the relatively low price compared to the boat, I wanted to buy the best money could buy (I can't always do that, but we're talking <100 here -dollar purchases). I was COMPLETELY SOLD by two things: (1) having spare parts available should I ever need them; and (2) my money will be used to hire an American handyman. The winch arrived quickly, I am very pleased with the fit, finish and quality (remember this is a tool and not sterling silver) and am confident that this winch will outlive the pendant and me. VERY HAPPY with this purchase.
