At first I thought how to clean the inside of the handle. But it doesn't have a hole for the drink to fill the handle. So you don't have to worry about cleaning.* The lid is meshed so even small fruit or lemon pits don't get through the mesh. I make fruit infused water and having a net to hold small bits in the pitcher is a huge plus. *Stainless steel is much thinner than I would like. All in all, this is a good mug. I had several glasses but for one reason or another I didn't use them, but I really liked this pitcher from day one.
