Bought to expand in many ways what my husband has been using for years. Sandisk's Original Fuze Players They make poor quality MP3 players these days, but those who owned the original player ten years ago say they're the best, and they have fans willing to over 2- $300 to pay for the restoration. Oh, that's just ridiculous. However, when I gave my husband the Fuze that he loved so much, I also gave him two car adapters to play through our car stereo. One was a spare, never used or even opened. The other one he uses a lot when we drive to the nearest big town here is Kalsipell MT about 100 miles one way so 200 round trip nice to have music to keep alert and wake up and no radios and no cell phone coverage on most mountain roads. way back and forth. The SO adapter broke a few weeks ago. WHAT NOT. So we had a replacement right. NO, SHE must have been DEAD on arrival as she was brand new straight out of the box, albeit a decade later. So okay, I'll get another one and update Fuze to include Blu-Tooth as well. So I ended up ordering LED speakers, two different Bluetooth adapters for cars and trucks, two different Bluetooth players for cars, and portable or non-portable speakers. Adapters and speakers now also accept flash drives. And all his favorite music is loaded on Fuze and he doesn't want to put music on the Samsung S20+ while we're still going through the learning curve of using a smartphone, so. what alternatives do we have here where many new technology fields and options are not possible or supported. And not just here in rural MT, we also hear from rural populated states from the Midwest to the Southern States. It's good. We know we don't need high capacity flash drives, a smaller one would be fine for his musical choice. So I ordered these, although they are a bit pricey compared to some of the color coded types, the quality and reviews here speak for themselves. So I ordered this pack along with a case containing all 10 pieces. Hubby can tag them and find out what music is there, sort of like a preinstalled playlist. He has the option of just using a flash drive with an adapter and skipping MP3 players here, or use players that, by the way, also accept SD cards, and one also allows you to use a flash drive. It's been a bit of a circus here catching up on all those options, but the effort put into the learning curve is well worth it. Now I can take one of the paired LED speakers on a hike as I often travel alone. However, I don't take much of the noise of everyday life home with me on a hike, because not only is it very pleasant, but also one has to be alert to the interests of Mother Nature and the world as it will be there. I want to hear that porcupine sneaking up on my camp, let alone a bear or other wild animals. I've been listening to a pack of wolves howling from afar in the middle of the night for two years. And then there are those nasty bipeds who have proven themselves to be spooky once or twice before, so should be able to HEAR your surroundings. Therefore, rarely use headphones or play on noise-cancelling devices. I used to take great classes to watch when it was too dark to read in natural light, but after an experience with a pack rat literally trying to break into my car, I accidentally turned off my portable DVD player up and got out of the car. I've also stopped taking my DVD player many times to try to keep the critters from rocking the car and scratching its underside and tires. As far as I know years later I didn't hitchhike it home as our friends said it happened to them from a campsite very close by. The landing gear and/or my constant attempts to scare the beast away prevented this circus. So yes, we are happy with SunDisk flash drives. Recommend if they are RIGHT SIZE for your purpose. You are for us. Maybe even less as you can actually still load more songs and categories onto this 8GB drive than you could listen to on our 2-6 hour trips to MT, ID, WA in larger urban areas. (Meeting the doctor isn't just for shopping and much less so since Covid.) Stay safe, happy and make it a goal. Music and humor help.
