I saw a reviewer recommend buying cedar oil to freshen up these cedar pieces. YUP! It works out. But it's also true that the smallest part of the pieces can be sanded down to bring back the cedar flavor. I loved the hanging items so much I went back to order mostly hanging items plus small cubes. The smell that these pieces leave everywhere is very, very pleasant. Small cubes are only good for storing leaves and so on. But does it freeze? WOW! I can't wait to add more and more to my closets! Now, when storing Christmas decorations with cotton or wool, I also throw cedar pieces INTO BAGS OR STORAGE ITEMS. I have no problem with insects like moths, silverfish, roaches or anything else getting into my valuable items in the attic! This fall I got myself a queen size cashmere comforter and a pair of silk comforters. I will NEVER keep any of these three things without these cedar pieces around them; Believe me! CEDAR WORKS! No scale. No moths. Nothing but a great outdoor cedar scent! Buy oil or use sandpaper. It's a lifetime journey to protect what you love!
