Update: Fun Toes customer service is really excellent; polite, attentive and unobtrusive. I was contacted by the company and offered a replacement pair and was told I received a bad batch. I informed them that I was not interested in getting more of the same product and would wait until the next batch. The toes of these new socks are no longer too big and there are far fewer threads sticking out in the sock. I've come to the conclusion that the rough surface of my sandals is to blame for the fact that I wear heels easily, and I can't blame my socks for that. I will continue to wear my Fun Toes until the forefoot wears out and will probably buy another pack at that point as they are still the best value toe socks. Each of these socks has a hole in the heel. It has been used 3 times a week for a little over a month and they all have serious heel holes. The quality is frankly disappointing. At least it's a change from the usual holes in my socks. The fit is ok although the fingers are a bit long for me. I bought these to help me transition to "barefoot" sandals so toes aren't a huge issue, but if you have small shoes I think they will wobble and be uncomfortable. They are very light on foot and have a breathable mesh upper that would be comfortable to walk in if you could do more than a few runs in them.
