Firstly it was an inexpensive solution to a short term problem. I recently had surgery on my right (leading) shoulder. As soon as I started it felt like I was driving with a defective power steering. After checking the tires and steering wheel fluid (okay), I got my dad driving. He told me it was me! I remember that many years ago my grandfather had such a pen and I went hunting. It was the end of the month and I only had a few dollars to spend. It looked like the best choice. After installing it - IF YOU ARE INJURED YOU NEED A DEEP DEPTH SET TO DO THIS - I took the car out for a ride. I like it except for the position of the hinge. REMEMBER YOU ARE HEAVY! The hinge aims to hit me in the stomach. I had to adjust the seat height to compensate. If I buy another one that would be a consideration. The plastic is adequate, but if you're looking at this as a long-term thing, go for a slightly better model. With this one you can feel the edges where it was assembled. It doesn't hurt, but it doesn't give that comfortable feeling of something super strong and solid. I remember the one my grandfather had was made out of a bowling ball. He had a good feel for him. No way I hit that pen. It works and I'm really enjoying it. I may look for a better one in the future but for now this one does the job well!
