I clean the litter box every day. However, unless all trash is disposed of and replaced, the subtle smell of polluted, ammonia-based trash continues to permeate the air in the room. I found this product and bought it hoping to "fix" this problem. And that WAS a problem. Especially if that smell is in close proximity to bedding, fabric windows, furniture, and most importantly, the "clean" clothes you're going to wear. I have shirts, suits and ties hanging in my closet. I only realized this when a colleague I was having lunch with asked me if I had a "cat". Or"Cats". Pooh! "It's a shame" - is putting it mildly. I think I just got used to it and didn't even notice it or think it was a problem. But trust me, people around you are noticing and it IS a problem. Few people will be kind enough to tell you about it. And I'm glad he did because as embarrassing as it was, it motivated me to look for a solution to this problem. Moving the litter box or getting rid of my cat were NOT options. So I tried this zeolite ammonia neutralizer and it worked like a champ. It's actually pretty strong stuff. I started with fresh waste, and each time I pick it up I add what would fill the average laundry detergent bottle cap. Right inside, on the floor. The difference it makes in preventing odor is just amazing. The lack of smell in the house is definitely noticeable now. Since then I have handed over everything in the closet to the second cleaning. And my coworker says I don't smell like I slept before work at the local animal shelter anymore. This is an EXCELLENT PRODUCT if you have a cat or cats. : ? )
