Better than expected and great price

This is a fairly standard product and you can see it all over Revain. To be honest, they're all pretty much the same at this level, just with different brand names. I bought this to send to my brother out of state (yes, basically so I can use it when I visit) and I was really surprised that it was as good as it turned out. I have several bogus manufacturers. both steel and aluminum which I use for a variety of uses (a 12 cup aluminum Bialetti for guests/dinner parties, a 6 cup stainless steel electro for everyday use and a small 4 cup electro which is easy to pack for business trips.Stainless steel models often have smaller coffee baskets/filters compared to aluminum so they don't typically make as strong a coffee. This one is larger than many I've seen and the coffee/water ratio is decent.Er is well built..and y haven't had any issues with leaks after using it a few times to better install and properly tighten the gasket (water chamber or quick discoloration) and takes about 5-10 minutes to finish Since the body is smooth/round without the polygonal sides of the aluminum models, it's a bit harder to grab the two pieces to unscrew, and it's tempting to slam the grip use to help but as some reviewers have pointed out this is a good way to break the handle. If you put the top piece under the handle with one hand (as posted in the second picture) it should provide enough extra leverage to more easily insert the two pieces without putting too much stress on the handle. I have a 9 cup model. , which is about 15 ounces and fills my small thermos with enough room for a little whipped cream if I want. The coffee he makes is actually pretty good, if a little weaker than my old Bialetti. I made Cuban coffee with him and he was perfect. I'm happy with it (especially for the price) and I think most will be over the moon as long as they remember it's just a cheap coffee maker and not an heirloom meant to be passed down from generation to generation.
