Just as good as the expensive ones once you know how to install them!

I've been a quad bike, off-road racer and climbing pro for over 20 years and now have my own shop. These deflators are as accurate as anything I've used. The only criticism I can give them is that they take a little longer to deflate than the more expensive ones I've used, the assembly instructions could have been better written and there are no fine tuning instructions. Here's how I install deflators for myself and my clients, regardless of brand: First, setting up a deflator takes time and patience, so it's a good job while you're doing anything else on your shop floor. Inflate your tire to the desired pressure using a notoriously accurate professional dial gauge, the same dial gauge you carry in your car. This is a good investment compared to the cost of changing a tire due to inaccurate pressure readings. Loosen the lock nut on the deflator and then thread the deflator onto the valve stem. Make sure the store is quiet, put your ear to the deflator and slowly unscrew the cap until you hear the sound of air escaping. Unscrew the cap until no more air escapes. Hand tighten the lock nut without turning the cap. Remove the deflator and inflate the tire back to road pressure. Put the deflator back in place and let it sit for a while until you can no longer hear the sound of the air escaping. This can take 7-8 minutes. Remove the deflator and check the air pressure in the tire. It will likely be in the 1-3 psi range. to the desired deflationary pressure. Carefully loosen the lock nut and adjust the cover. Turn clockwise to increase pressure, turn counterclockwise to decrease pressure. Very few turns are required to adjust the valve, 1/16 to 1/8 turn to adjust 1 psi. With practice, you'll get a feel for how much twisting you need to do. Inflate the tire back to road pressure and install the air deflator. After waiting for the air to be released, check the pressure again. Readjust the cap and repeat the process until you get the exact deflation pressure you want. After you have adjusted all four, gently tighten the locknut with pliers, being careful not to twist the cap. Repeat the test to verify your final settings. I haven't had any issues, but it's worth checking the pressure after using the deflators the first few times out on the track. Zaga Garage, Glendale, Arizona.
