The last cup of coffee from our previous press was a sip of ground coffee. Coletti's double sieve keeps the ground coffee in the pot much better than our GSI press. In the picture you can see my empty cup, it was the last cup from a pot that usually contains most of the soil and Coletti has little left. I tested the temps after the coffee had sat in a 64 degree house for a little over an hour. The coffee started at 185. An hour later the coffee was 138. We left about 2 cups in the press for 4 hours and it was only tepid so I don't think the 4 hour claim is correct but our coffee sits usually not that long in any case. The outside and top of the press will be warmer than our insulated Cotopaxi bottle, therefore there is heat transfer and therefore heat loss. The press is very durable and comes with a nice pouch. The extra capacity is great when hanging out with friends. There's nothing worse than serving ALL your coffee to your friends and then waiting another 10 minutes to get your own cup. The only thing we don't like is that the filters are not removable. We often find soil stuck between the bottom metal and the bottom mesh, it seems difficult to get 100% of the soil out of this "trap".
