My wife and I both have one of these bug scarves. Mine seems to work well enough for me. Mosquitoes didn't bother me here on Lake Heron here in New Mexico. When I'm on the back porch at headquarters, no mosquitoes or flies bother me. My wife attracts mosquitoes. The scarf didn't seem to help much. She still has to use DEET. Worse, the material of the scarf could cause hives on the skin of her neck and bodice. This is the first insect repellent we have tried. The scarf tends to lose air or simply slide off the shoulders and arms. My wife, a genius, tied the ends of the scarf in a knot to make a sort of sleeve to slip your arm and wrist through. Voila, the scarf no longer drifts!
