I don't think I used a loofah sponge as my mother sometimes used it when I was growing up. I saw them online and decided to give it a try. I was shocked when I first received them at how flat they were. You can see in my photos they flatten out and then the moisture fills them up again. As you can see, there were actually four loofahs included in my 3-pack. I read an article that talked about how eco-friendly loofah is. He also mentioned that it might contain bacteria. I would recommend cutting off what you need when you need it so you can throw it away regularly. If you're looking for a nice washcloth for the shower or bath, or a sponge-sized washcloth for washing dishes. Five or six hand sponges can easily be made from each pack of washcloths. (as you see in my hand). So in my case I could easily cut 20 to 24 sponges. Even if I throw them away every three to four weeks, that's nearly 2 years of sponge use with minimal environmental impact. They felt good in the hand and had just the right roughness to allow for good cleaning while being safe on non-stick surfaces. I've read mixed reviews about mold and bacteria. Remember to hang them up to air dry after use. Personally, I plan on throwing out my pieces every month, but good care will likely keep them mold-free for longer.
