An unfortunate production error. I don't think it's fair compensation.

I put these glow plugs on my 2000 Powerstroke with an initial 464,000 miles and now the truck starts up in the 40 degree morning temps without having to plug it in. As for the glow plugs, I am satisfied with the product. The problem I had was that after I finished building and running the truck, I found that it stuttered and lacked midrange torque. I ordered a bluetooth ODBII module and found that injector #5 had a "short high to low". The first possible cause was of course a faulty injector solenoid and given the mileage on my original factory injectors I was concerned that this would be the case but I ran every diagnostic procedure I could think of before removing the valve cover and checking . Wiring between the valve cover and the injector and noting that the buzz test actually confirmed the signal was reaching the actual physical injector connector. At this point I was positive that the injector solenoid had failed, so I found a master and made a replacement. After all connections were made, I repeated this buzz test and got an identical result. Injector #5 - short circuit from high to low side. Right now, after about 20 hours of diagnostics and repairs, I happened to check the wiring in the gasket itself and found that there was a short in either the body of the injector connector or the passage of the gasket through the wiring harness that was pressed into that circuit at the factory. .I can't say how likely this is to happen again but it has resulted in a real and measurable cost for a fairly simple repair and now I'm driving with the wrong set of injectors and with an old gasket underneath the left valve. Glaze. Everything is working great at the moment and I don't see any indication that there will be a problem. So I'm hoping for a few hundred thousand more before I have to take the valve covers off again. offered (and I accepted) 1/2 of my purchase price as a refund. Do yourself a favor, check the individual injection circuits before you hook this thing up. Most likely you won't have any problems, but it's easy to check.
