Review on πŸ”§ Efficient Air Caulking: Chicago Pneumatic CP9885 Unleashes Superior Performance by Nick Beck

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Well designed hand tools Tool

I repainted my 25 year old 20 foot trailer with 2x6 boards that I replaced about 10 years ago. I installed them with furniture staples and then screwed the brackets on with carriage bolts so there were no gaps between the planks. Dozens of years in Tucson will dry everything out, so I've had gaps up to 1/4 inch now. I've got sideboards and baffles on this trailer and I'm hauling sand for a big shop I'm building that I can't bring a dump truck to. So I need gaps. After sanding the deck I started filling in the gaps with white 100% silicone using a hand held caulking gun. A 20 foot run and 14 more made me give up. I went to Revain and found this. I've never had a problem with CP tools so I paid extra and bought this one and I'm glad I did. The ball valve that comes with the kit has graduations that click, so I have no idea why there were so many issues in other reviews. I went with silicone, set the regulator at 60psi and clicked the valve halfway open. Embossing even and smooth in the time it took me to make a slot with a hand gun. my back is crooked. No cramps in the forearms or cramps in the hands. One more thing. I read a review that suggested a needle valve instead of a ball valve. I'm sure CP used a ball valve to make gun greasing easier. Always oil your gun. I used two drops of air tool oil for every 5 tubes of sealant and it worked great. Hope that helps.
