Thanks to the efforts of two kids, old Roku with four remotes got his last hooray. I checked how much a replacement would cost here and was a bit shocked at the prices some were charging for a Roku 4 remote. I could spend a little more and get a brand new device with a new remote control. That being said, I remember reading a while ago that most Roku devices have an IR sensor and that you can use Roku IR remotes or some generic ones. Well, this suction cup works on my Roku remote. Of course, it doesn't have some of the features of the other remote, like the A&B button, the talk-to-search option, or the wireless headphone jack, but I hardly ever used those features. Especially the earbud jack that drains the batteries in a couple of days. So far this remote runs like clockwork, all the pre-programmed buttons work great and 4 of the 6 buttons have apps that we use regularly. Except that I was able to reprogram the other two buttons to a different channel. Who uses/watches Vudu or Sling? Oh, and I really like the bright yellow color. This makes it pretty easy to spot the remote on a dark brown couch or anywhere in the house where the kids might have put the remote.
