My squirrel loves it!

I got this for my adopted squirrel who lives on the street all the time. I built him a small tower with a platform under the eaves and had a few bed modifications made for him to strike a balance between warmth and not having a flea incubator. He is 18 months old and I thought he might find a mate in the summer because he slept in the trees many nights in the summer but as soon as it got cold or a storm started he would return to his bed. . I have a "cave" foam insulation board that has tempered glass on one side, has a hole at the top that accepts the hole on the side, and the front is open. I filled it with paper fillers, corn husks and unbleached coffee filters (to mimic leaves) and he was so excited when he first examined it! He dismounted, did his little lucky jump, jumped at me for a quick hug, and then spent about 45 minutes adjusting to his preferences. The best part about this little squirrel housekeeper is that with front and back doors, you can clean her without interfering with her nesting efforts too much. Sorry for the long review. But for those who have cared for a fallen squirrel and want a natural habitat, this is the perfect size, easy to clean and my little fella seems to love it.
