Review on Efficient Installation and Removal of Camshaft Bearings with Performance Tool W89220 Universal Tool by Rick Rogers

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Good price. Poor quality

I usually don't like buying Performance Tool products because I rarely get unbreakable ones. I figured I wouldn't have any problems with a simple tool like this. After installing my first bearing, I noticed that the protrusions on the external expansion adapter were trying to fully penetrate the bearing and scratched it. I drew it again out, checked everything again, put the tool back in place and made sure I tightened it a bit, I still had this problem but had to keep pushing the bearing to get it back out, to not damage the bearing worked I was slow because the tool kept trying to slip through. After removing and re-inserting the tool several times, the tab on the internal dilator broke off.I didn't know when ss others have this problem too. It's my fault for not reading reviews as usual. I do not recommend this tool. I used to use my former boss' Matco tool and he never had a single problem at his age. I will definitely find something that comes close to this quality. These tabs are clearly of poor quality, as is usually the case with the performance tool.
