An indispensable tool to prevent spoilage of honey

As a hobby beekeeper I needed something to prevent the water content of my honey from getting too high before filling. This tool serves its purpose and allows you to quickly determine the water content. My only complaint about this tool is that it seems cheap. Since I only use it once or twice a year, I'm fine with that. Beekeepers should aim for a water content below 18% as this reduces the likelihood of mold and spoilage. Otherwise, honey should be stored in a room with desiccant or harvested later. Most closed honey will be below the threshold. Six months after jarring my harvest of honey I am pleased to report that there has been no spoilage and the water content levels appear to be correct. I will continue to use this tool in the near future as I plan my second year as a beekeeper.
