I just bought a new house that had no overhead lighting in the dining room. I don't like this feature in houses. However, I needed a light, not a recessed or track light. I found a nice light fixture in a warehouse at home that had a center bracket that I could thread a wire through to attach to the lighting wiring and then attach the light to the ceiling. Everything worked great when I found out that everything had to be wired and the swag chain had to be wired before mounting it to the ceiling. I used these big butterflies on the ceiling because I couldn't find the beam. I also replaced the grommet that came with the center mount light because I needed an open loop so I could thread the wire through it. I also bought this from amazon. This swag was the longest I could find, it took me 16 feet. The brushed nickel matched the pendant light kit I bought at a hardware store. You have to break one of the links to attach it to your lighting kit, which I really don't like so I bought an "S" hook to attach it to my lamp and it looks great. I was so happy to find this lengthening set in brushed nickel. Includes chain, wire with switch and 18ft plug. The photos were taken during Halloween.
