I have tested both MaxxAir 4401K and Fan-tastic 1200 fans I plan to install on a 2018 Ram Promaster City with a very well thought out 1" ceiling. Both at a very affordable price of around $110. get to the wires on the motor side and I plan to even add a rocker switch to use as a fan or breather. The Fatastic has 5" roof side clearance versus 4" for the MaxxAir. This was very important for me and my roof rack, which only has 4.5" of free space. MaxxAir just looks more unobtrusive and discreet. Inside, the MaxAir occupies an additional 1.5" of your height, and unless your ceiling is 2" thick (which I don't) you will need to create a custom frame as you have clearance. My headliner will be an inch thick be so I need to add a 1 inch border. The MaxxAir feels heavier and better built, and the support arms feel a lot better in high winds. The fan tactic's transparent wings are see-through and the lid has an almost pure blue cast. It looks better from the inside and allows you to see more of the outside when it's off. Fantastic makes a whiny engine noise at all speeds and sounds like a remote control car. it would drive me crazy considering the fan had to be right next to my head. The MaxxAir is nearly silent at settings 1 and 2, and at settings 3 and 4 it's a very acceptable sound of fast-moving air. That's the biggest difference for me and I'm very glad I checked them out. Both seem to be moving A LOT of air. The MaxxAir has some plastic roof mounts for the lid. a case I will never buy or use. The bracket holes have rubber plugs that look like they may one day dry out and fail. I didn't care, but I have to face it. An update to MaxxAir. An unpleasant surprise is that if the device's power is turned off and then restored, the device remains off. This was not the case with Fan-tastic, which had much simpler controls and controls. I plan to bypass MaxxAir's speed control entirely and add my own to avoid this.
