I foster puppies & recently had some 5 day old babies. This provided very easy access to the puppies since they have to be fed every 2-3 hours. The bottom isn't very waterproof, unfortunately, so when they would go potty, underneath the playpen would get wet. We tried to line the bottom the best we could with puppy pads & blankets, but the pee still found a way. The little mesh sides weren't super easy to clean either, but we're going to try scrubbing it in the tub now that it's no longer in use. Anyway, this worked great until the pups were about 3 weeks old & started climbing out; then we had to put them in a larger, sturdy enclosure. We bought two to keep on in our minivan. I think for little ones it would be easy to pop up in our minivan with puppy pads to let them go potty during a long road trip or something. (Our foster puppies can't have paws on the ground until they're fully vaccinated from parvo, but it would also be useful if it was raining or something, if you have the room.) Anyway, it's not perfect, but it definitely served its purpose.
