Size in a nutshell. My son wears a 1.5 so I'm a size 2 and he has some room to grow in the toe box. I love that the tongue and velcro design makes it really easy for him to get the shoe on and off even when it's wet. Some water shoes don't go on and off when wet, much like putting on and taking off a wetsuit - they stick to the skin. There are also plenty of ventilation holes for water drainage so they dry quickly. The fabric of the upper isn't the softest, but this shoe is great for the water park, creek, or other water feature.
