Review on Optilux Hella H71070582 Yellow Halogen by Brad Mastermind

Much whiter than standard halogen but still no comparison to LEDs

I replaced the low beams with LEDs and wanted to adjust the high frequencies better. They're much better than standard halogen bulbs, but (as you can see in the picture) still don't quite fit. (Note: my camera white balances the Hella bulbs so they look white and the LED looks blue. But the LEDs actually look white and the Hella looks light yellow.) In terms of brightness, they're similar to the standard halogen bulbs it replaces to have. My car's daytime running lights use low-wattage high beams. With a halogen bulb, the reduced wattage means it's even more yellow than usual, creating an even greater discrepancy between it and the LED low beam. The blue coating on Hella bulbs is not strong enough to neutralize the yellow color in DRL mode, so they end up looking like regular halogen bulbs. I don't have a photo of it as the daytime running lights turn off when you turn on the low beams. (Image provided is high beam in full effect) An interesting side effect of the blue coating is that when looking into the headlight reflector housing head on, everything turns blue. I don't think I'll get in trouble for this as (1) you have to be perfectly aligned for it to look like this, (2) from any other angle it's just a tiny blue dot that's easy to ignore, and (3) only visible when switched off.
