Good color, dubious life when working as a daytime running light.

I have used a pair of these fog lights on my truck for 2-3 years with no problems so felt pretty good with them. The light color is a pleasant pure yellow, not washed out. However, I also use them as high beam/daytime running lights in my IS300. Less than a year later, the glass deformed and burned through from the inside. The light output has decreased significantly. I installed them with the headlights off the car and never once touched the glass or anything. Other users seem to have had…

DRL installed in WRX - performance data updated 11/09/19

This was a great addition to the car for the money. I targeted the classic yellow DRLs and they get the job done without any additional wiring. Installs in less than 5 minutes. As for durability, reviews are mixed. Every two years I will update the information on how long they will work in my car as daytime running lights. - installed ******* 7.10.2019 - still functional since 22.03.2022 ******* *- I took extra care and cleaned the glass bulb with isopropyl alcohol before installation - car…

Good value for money / and time to upgrade

👍 good 11/02/18 just installed today on a 2010 civic coupe very easy on this civic the coolant had to be removed to get to the driver's side of the other side is ok nothing is in the way MAN what difference does it make now they match my fog lights, high beam/high beam and fog lights now they are very yellow beautiful DONE 😎👍👌🏽 buy them you will love their quality. When I installed have a twist knob then push the sides to pull out the bulb once you pull out the clip at the bottom of the…

Love the Optilux range for replacing DRLs/high beams and fog lights

I use a yellow Optilux for DRL/high beams on every car I own. I usually use HID or LED low beams and most cars use lower wattage high beams for daytime running lights. Well to add some style I usually grab a set of these yellow Optilux bulbs to replace the standard bulbs. Not only do they look cool, but they're also easier to see during the day because the color temperature shines through on cloudy days, unlike traditional incandescent bulbs that blend into cloudy days. This also applies to…

Doesn't seem brighter than the factory bulb

I bought two individual bulbs (not 2 each) and installed one of them. Compared to the stock, never-replaced factory bulb in my 74,000-mile Jeep, I see no difference in brightness when I alternately cover one light with my hat and then the other. I drive a BMW with Hella headlights for the German market in which I have 100 watt H1 bulbs and these bulbs are nowhere near as bright as my (real) 100 watt H1 bulbs. I haven't tried measuring voltage and current, but other reviewers here have noted…

Much whiter than standard halogen but still no comparison to LEDs

I replaced the low beams with LEDs and wanted to adjust the high frequencies better. They're much better than standard halogen bulbs, but (as you can see in the picture) still don't quite fit. (Note: my camera white balances the Hella bulbs so they look white and the LED looks blue. But the LEDs actually look white and the Hella looks light yellow.) In terms of brightness, they're similar to the standard halogen bulbs it replaces to have. My car's daytime running lights use low-wattage high…

Excellent quality and low price.

I bought these to replace the high beam/daytime running lights on my 2008 Subaru Outback. I considered buying HID 9005 ballasts and replacement bulbs, but went with them because I read that the lower voltage of daytime running lights (Subaru uses high beams as DRLs) will cause the HID to flicker or not work. I'm happy because they are bright enough, much cheaper and less of a hassle than the 8000k H7 HID kit I installed for the low beam. I'm happy with my HIDs, but if I knew how much cheaper…

Completely wrong. It's NOT 100W. DO NOT BUY

Totally WRONG. That is NOT 100 watts. DO NOT BUY. I installed one to the right of a 2015 Explorer to compare to a stock Sylvania 9005 OEM with 47,000 miles. The light is *whiter*, but it's actually not even as bright as the standard bulb used. The light beam was nice and even, certainly whiter but seemed dimmer than the stock driver's side bulb. The Sylvania 9005 has a central hotspot that is centered and focused, putting more usable light where you need it, although the color temperature was…
