Review on Effortlessly Dust Every Inch with OXO Good Grips Microfiber Duster - 53 Inches Extendable Reach by Alvaro Delic

Compared to Eurow electrostatic duster

I couldn't decide which of the two retractable dusters to buy. So I took both (since I have a two story house it's handy to have a cobweb rag on each floor!) and kept them both. They're similar, but each has their own benefit, which I appreciate. Here are my pros and cons, sorted by star, for this feather duster, OXO Good Grips retractable microfiber cloth, and Eurow electrostatic flaps with 3-piece extension for multiple categories. As you can see, I love both dusters! How well does the vacuum attachment work? ***** 5 Star Oxo - The brush head is very soft but the filaments are wider and shorter, more like fabric than the extremely soft Eurow brushes. Because of this, Oxo isn't as good on objects like masks. However, in normal and extra heavy dusting, the Oxo performs better. I don't dust as often as I should, so there can be quite a bit of dust on the top of hanging picture frames, for example. The Oxo does a better job of capturing thicker dust than just pushing it away from the frames. I don't have a ceiling fan to try on, but I think it would work well for cleaning the top of the fan blades. ***** 5 stars Eurow - The cleaning head is made of soft fibers. This cloth picks up dust better from objects with cracks. For example, we have a set of leather masks hanging on the wall. Very light threads can be wrapped around the masks and shake dust out of all folds and crevices without damaging the masks in any way. It collects cobwebs and clumps of dust, but ordinary soft dust is fluffier in the air, despite the "electrostatics" in the rag's name.2. How adjustable is the dust head?**** 4 Stars Oxo - The dust head itself is not flexible, which again can be very handy, especially for heavier jobs. However, you can easily change the angle of the head with the sturdy knob on its connection to the stand.**** 4 Stars Eurow - The head is made of thick wire in the middle, like a giant pipe cleaner. This can be bent into a curve or at a gentle right angle, which can be very handy. The wire center is strong, but it cannot be twisted into a pretzel. And like the pipe brush, once bent, it takes a little work to get it perfectly straight again. (Not that it matters much if it's not perfectly straight.) 3. Easy to lengthen and adjust? ****+ 4.5 Stars Oxo - Oxo is shorter, only up to 54 inches. I'm only deducting half a star for this because it's long enough for most places. The head is heavier than the Eurow head but still easy to aim at 54 inches. However, when you're working with something delicate, a fully extended Oxo, especially since its dust-catching fibers are shorter, requires a little more attention and control. ***** 5 Star Eurow - Eurow can be up to 76 inches. It's actually a very good length, especially since it's very light and I can easily carry it when it's fully extended. 4. How easy is it to clean the dust cap?***** 5 Stars Oxo - The dust cap is removable because it is snapped on. You can machine wash it or just wash it in water or soapy water. The extension pole is easy, folding is easy.***** 5 Star Eurow - The dust head doesn't come off the pole, but it is very easy to to clean. If shaking it off isn't enough, simply rinse under the running water. It's easy to extend the stick and it's also easy to remove. Dust Caps: OXO Good Grips Microfiber Duster Refill Happy Reader
