I'm no stranger to shock collars, and neither is my 14 pound Yorkshire. We bought this as a temporary spare until we find another one that we lost. So I wanted to find the cheapest available. This one works, but I don't like it as much as the slightly more expensive one (which is no longer available for purchase). Let me start with what I really like about him. It comes with two beautiful collars. We use yellow and black reflective buckles. His old collar has a traditional buckle that makes it awkward to put on a small wobbly bucket of energy. It's just a quick press and click and it's on. The Shocker Box (whatever it's called) is lighter and smaller than his other collar. I've had it for a few weeks and it only needed to be charged once. The remote control is low profile, light weight, easy to use and small in size. I can turn off discharge mode (and I turn it off by dropping it down to zero) so there aren't any accidental discharges. I only use beep and vibrate. He knows what will follow his previous collar, it only took him a smack or two to learn and to be honest he is NOT the sharpest tool in the shed. Now for the part I don't like. Press three times to get a beep or vibration. No big deal as I have very healthy thumbs from texting. I don't have to press hard or anything, but I only pressed his other collar once as moving the remote or collar would wake him up. This one requires you to press a button to wake it up from sleep mode. Although the remote is a very cool and slim low profile size, it doesn't have a rubber grip like its latest remote, so it slides easily across counters and tables and even in my hands. So it's more likely to end up being discarded. It came with a bracelet (although I prefer a choker). The instructions were written in very broken English and not very clear. I always thought it wasn't loading. I plugged it into the charger for 24 hours and couldn't turn on the light. It started flashing as soon as I unplugged it from the charger and then went off completely. On my other collar, blinking means it needs to be charged and off means it's empty! For this collar, it will flash for 3 minutes after you remove it from the charger and then stop. The light stays off until it needs to be charged, after which it flashes. The instructions should explain this better as I almost returned it thinking it wouldn't charge.
