Review on LS2 Helmets Unisex Adult Modular Adventure by Garon Tafolla

Man I hate this helmet

I hate it. I really wanted to be liked. Why don't you just give it back you ask? First, I've already used it. Second, I deserve punishment. Let me start on the positive side because I'm that type of guy. (That's a lie, but I imagined the look on my ex-wife's face when I said that and it made me happy. Unlike that helmet.) Good. That looks great. It's pretty well done. The mechanisms work well. Lots of features. Both face shields are excellent. Good airflow through vents. acceptable price. Poorly. OMFG. Stupidity. That's what makes this helmet suck. From the looks of it, Metro v3 was designed to work with some sort of proprietary Bluetooth communications. Excellent. However. But then they made big open speaker holes in the helmet where they thought your ears should be. Yes. Except that nobody but a Lovecraftian shapeshifting reptilian has ears anywhere NEAR where those hollow indentations actually end on your head. So: not only is it a waste of time putting speakers in there since they're nowhere near your (human) ears, but now those misplaced holes have the unintended consequence of creating HUGE ECHO CHAMBERS. We make an already very loud helmet even louder. As an added design feature, the padding under the giant holes is very thick. So when you put on a helmet, the tight padding around your neck tends to rip the earplugs, which you now MUST wear, right out of your skull. Then, when you put on a helmet, those poorly fitted earbuds can fall right out since there are no pads around your real ears. It's annoying. I had several speakers in my helmet and installed them in Metro v3. Pointless, not really near my ear canal. I tried adding some foam behind the liner to fill the echo chambers. The shaping of the lining is such that it doesn't work. FYI I've been pumping the LS2 Stream for 2 years and driving it over rough terrain and back. $150, worked great and I was very impressed. So I replaced it with this Metro v3. Big disappointment. I would say if you want a helmet with all of these features, don't buy cheap. It's not worth it. Just my experience/opinion.
