I bought these to connect very old monitors I had to newer computer gear. I used to use rigid adapters but sometimes this resulted in the cable being too low for easy use. Being short cables allows them to bend and fit better. I've also used this to connect the same monitors to my Blue-Ray player, Nintendo Switch and even my iPhone. During the Covid-19 pandemic I used old monitors as secondary displays in my home office. I have now saved some money on buying new monitors.
