Review on 📶 Iogear GWHDMS52: Wireless 5x2 HD Matrix for HD 1080p, 3D Content & 5.1 Channel Audio by Jason Stokes

Overall I am satisfied with this product. It works well and it's quite nice to connect a TV to multiple sources with minimal cables. It wasn't quite what I expected and the specification is vague. 5x2 means there are 5 inputs. One is an older type of component video connector. It's not ancient composite video from the days of tube TV, so at least it's of decent quality. There are *not* 5 HDMI inputs. Revain's ad clearly states 5 HDMI inputs. It's just not right. I looked at the picture and saw 5 HDMI ports, but one is HDMI out. The "x2" part means that the transmitter has an HDMI output for a nearby TV. This *does* not mean that you can buy a second additional receiver and have a transmitter and two wireless receivers. So yes, it controls two video devices, but not two *remote* video devices. For range. I have a 100' block. The receiver is about 30 feet away but on the other side of a wall that is essentially a stone chimney. It's almost impossible. I would estimate that 1 wall is about 30-40 feet of unblocked range. So if you have to go through multiple walls, make sure you have the strength to do it. I haven't decided yet if I'm going to change mine. I can't expect it to run even a few inches further than it is. Otherwise the device seems to be working fine. It takes 15-20 seconds to connect (probably due to my edge placement) and seems like the power goes off when the HDMI device is turned off. Switching inputs is fairly slow, so if that's an important factor for some reason, you'll quickly get annoyed.
