I've used magnifying mirrors for years when doing makeup and I usually use the ones that stick to the mirror on my bathroom counter they have worked great. This mirror was the perfect answer to my new home's makeup application with a taller, wider vanity and 10x magnification. I don't want to drill holes in my walls to install a retractable wall mirror just yet and most only have a 5x or 7x magnification. The suction cup on this mirror is great and slides out perfectly. It hasn't slipped or fallen off the wall mirror yet. Unfortunately the light on this mirror isn't very bright at all and only works intermittently, so I've only given it 4 stars. It was disappointing. Having enough lighting over my vanity doesn't bother me and it's not worth going back. If you're buying this for extra lighting, this mirror isn't for you. If you're looking for a 10x mirror that extends the perfect distance without having to lean over the counter to use it and the only setup is to attach a suction cup to your existing mirror, this is perfect.
