Hope you've read NotaSecondTime's most helpful review yet. Because of NotaSecondTime's recommendation, I read every second review on this product. Here are the caveats: 1. The lamps are taller/longer than many (if not most) spiral CFLs - 6 1/2 inches. Make sure they match your intended jigs.2. Some users have reported buzzes/totals.3. If you have no idea what Kelvin means for a color, it might be too harsh/blue/sterile for your liking. These bulbs arrived on time, in excellent condition and all four work. I "blow" them and make sure they stay on for at least 1 hour without turning off. Note that fluorescent lamps do not respond well to short on/off cycles, which can reduce their lifespan to that of incandescent lamps. Leave them on for at least 15 minutes before turning them off. I listened carefully to each lightbulb up close. No buzz or hum was detected - and I'm very sensitive to such things. I use two of these lamps in the recessed ceiling lights in my kitchen, which normally use a spotlight (type PAR 38). They extend under the fixture, which is what I want - diffused light with very soft shadows. When using incandescent bulbs I get a serious shadow that makes cooking difficult. These beauties solved that problem. I'm a little concerned that this type of attachment will greatly affect the ballast. If they leave early due to heat build up I will come back and edit this review. I have winter blues and actually have a special light box with bulbs in the right color temperature. These Alzo lamps go perfectly with this color. This is exactly what I expect from the lighting. Price, service, performance - these lamps are a good buy if you appreciate them. According to other reviewers, if you have a marriage or it burns out too soon, call Alzo customer service and they will send you a replacement WITHOUT having to return the faulty ones!
