I recently used this to make iced tea instead of coffee and it works great. I didn't see a single accidental leaf slip through the teapot because it's so thin, but the flavor still comes through. It's the perfect height to fit so much tea or coffee grounds and it still stays fully submerged. My regular iced tea uses 2 tablespoons of the leaves and definitely works very well. In addition, the cap can be put on quite tightly, even if it is a bit difficult to screw it on properly. The only downside I really see is that it's quite difficult to clean as it takes a little time to remove all the coffee grounds or tea leaves from the top section.
