I was surprised at how quiet the Magic Mill was compared to the cheap old dehydrator I was using. It also looks beautiful and out of place in the kitchen. I chose this brand because I'm trying to eliminate plastic from my life and this Magic Mill had steel shelves. However, I don't like the plastic wraps that come with the kit, as the Magic Mill doesn't specify the type of plastic used. Just saying "food safety" doesn't tell me anything of value. In the future I'll probably buy some clean silicone shells to replace. The digital function that allows me to set the temperature is a welcome improvement over my old one, and the rear fan really does what it says; It creates great airflow.
