I bought this dehydrator in January 2018. I've used it about a dozen times with no problems. Fast forward to July 2019 and the dehydrator won't turn on and is useless. It is clear that this product is defective and will fail after minimal use and less than 18 months of ownership. Do yourself a favor and look for another brand that will last longer than a few uses.

My first food dehydrator and I really like it. I bought extra plastic grid sheets to keep the food pieces from falling through. I flip pans 2-3 times in a 6-8 hour session when I have a full load of 9 pans to ensure more even drying. Would buy again. We love healthy food, but it often takes a long time to prepare. . I have now dehydrated the cooked brown rice and overnight cooked black beans in 10 minutes. Now they can be cooked in 10-15 minutes.

I have a very nice container garden and even grew and harvested Yukon potatoes this year. I got 10 pounds of potatoes and that's a lot for one person so I decided to cook rice and freeze a little and then dry a little for casseroles and scallop potato dishes. Only problem, my old dehydrator only works for small batches and takes 20 hours! So I went to Revain, researched and bought this one. Today I finished the rest of my potato harvest in ONLY 8 HOURS! Mine comes with 9 fine mesh blades instead of just 1 and I'm pretty sure it has more than 2 non-stick blades I've processed 3 batches of zucchini so far and I like it. I used olive oil for the first two batches and they came out fine, but I didn't like the oily residue. I switched to egg whites to help the spices stick and that picked it all up a few notches. I was surprised at how quiet the Magic Mill was compared to the cheap old dehydrator I was using. It also looks beautiful and out of place in the kitchen. I chose this brand because I'm trying to eliminate plastic from my life and this Magic Mill had steel shelves. However, I don't like the plastic wraps that come with the kit, as the Magic Mill doesn't specify the type of plastic used. Just saying "food safety" doesn't tell me anything of value. I used this model at my daughter's house and was so impressed that I have it now. When I upgrade - and I ALWAYS upgrade - I hope Magic Mill designs a larger capacity, all metal except the door. I love that I can see the unit clearly and that it has 9 wire shelves, 2 fruit trays, a mesh tray for items like bananas and strawberries, and a hanger to hang to dry.
