I used this model at my daughter's house and was so impressed that I have it now. When I upgrade - and I ALWAYS upgrade - I hope Magic Mill designs a larger capacity, all metal except the door. I love that I can see the unit clearly and that it has 9 wire shelves, 2 fruit trays, a mesh tray for items like bananas and strawberries, and a hanger to hang to dry. All shelves are easy to clean with warm water and liquid soap. The control panel is easy to manipulate. The LED panel is bright red and neat. After washing the shelves and doing a test run to reduce/remove any material/manufacturing odor, we partially filled the facility with the first batch of apples, bananas and pineapples. Previous experience has shown that the fruit can be sliced thinly. 3 centimeters / less than 1/4 inch thick. This thickness also allows the fruit to be dehydrated from soft, leathery to crunchy. Let me say that the fruit was delicious. As I have often done in the past, I dusted lightly. Apples with cinnamon from drying out. The spice sticks well after drying. I haven't had a dehydrator in years. As with cycling, I've dehydrated a lot of foods and the process and spices are back. I look forward to using this device frequently.
