I have been using this item in near freezing temperatures for about two months now. Functionally, this item is excellent. On the high setting, my hands get almost hot at times, and I had to flip the switch to the low position. Installation wasn't easy. This is due to the fact that the heating element, in the form of a foil, consisting of metal strips surrounded by a very strong plastic coating, has a sufficient thickness and it is very difficult to install grippers on it. two sets of these hand warmers and the grips of both brands were difficult to attach to the warmers. Wiring is very simple and easy to install. Neither bike presented a problem finding a "hot" wire that is turned off by the key, which is very important. When all of that is done, it's definitely worth the effort. I've never felt so comfortable in cold weather. There are other options on the market. There are rod heaters that are installed in the steering wheel and are cheaper. They take about 5 miles to warm up and aren't as good as those hand warmers. They are also even more difficult to install and may require drilling the steering wheel. They are generally not suitable for fixed rudders. There are also heated grips. I have two sets of these. They work a little better, but also cost more. The wiring is about the same. For the price, these heaters are hard to beat.
